Today, Minecraft Battle Mode arrives on all console versions of the game, be it Xbox , PlayStation or Wii U.
Battle mode allows you to set up a competitive multiplayer fight for survival, where speed, strategy- and sometimes just pure luck- will make you the winner.
You can get three new maps – Temple, Medusa and Lair – today via Battle Map Pack 1, which costs £2.39. Or, if you think you’re going to enjoy this mode a lot, you can fork out £7.99 for the Battle Map Pack season pass, which contains four map packs in total.
Battle mode matches can be played with up to four players in split-screen and up to 8 players online via Xbox Live. Or, you can find other community members to join your game via an in-game matchmaking system.
Again, I’ll reiterate my point as to why Mojang/Microsoft wish to charge Minecraft players for custom made maps, when Minecraft itself is all about building worlds? Why can’t the fans create these maps and have the best ones selected for Battle mode? Am I speaking too much sense?
