Several weeks back it was announced at the last minute that the release of Mighty No.9, the crowdfunded Megaman-ish platformer, would be delayed until 2016, but no specific date was given at the time.
Well now we have a date, as announced by Comcept via a Kickstarter update. Mighty No. 9 will release in North America on the 9th of February 2016, while the rest of the world can pick it up three days later on the 12th of February.
“Comcept and our partners at Inti Creates and Deep Silver have been hard at work clearing up any remaining issues with the online modes included in Mighty No. 9,” said Comcept.
“We are looking forward to delivering this game to our fans, especially all of our backers!
Thanks again for all of your support and patience!”
While we will have to wait a few more months for that, the Special Demo version for backers, which was also delayed, has been released. If you are a backer, all you need to do is use the email attached to your Kickstarter or Paypal accounts and login to the Humble Bundle website where the download is available. If you don’t have a Humble Bundle account, enter the e-mail that was used to back Mighty No. 9 on the Humble Bundle Order Resender page.
“We are extremely sorry for the delay in delivering this demo to you,” said the team in a Kickstarter update, “but we hope you enjoy your time with it! Also, as a result of switching to DRM-Free distribution, there is obviously not a cut-off date for this demo. You are also welcome to stream or record gameplay videos to share with your friends and followers! “
While the delay did not go down well with backers, it is good that they got the demo out as soon as possible so backers know that their money is in safe hands.
