Microsoft have officially revealed their plans for Gamescom this year after a highly successful presentation at E3 2015. Their conference will go on stage on August 4th at 10:00am EST under the tag line “See the greatest games lineup in Xbox history”, leading fans to believe they have even more to show than they did earlier this month (having used the same tag line). A prediction that will probably come to light after the absence of eagerly awaited titles disappointed a selection of fans.
Fans wanting to watch the conference can do so in the usual fashion, via the Live Event Player application on their Xbox consoles, via Xbox.com or via their Windows Smartphone. We should imagine the usual variety of livestreams from the likes of Twitch, YouTube and various media outlets will also be playing host to the presentation.
Microsoft have already stated that they deliberately held back some of their up-coming titles and announcements back from E3 so they could instead be on display at this years Gamescom. We noticed an absence from various titles previously revealed at past conferences, exclusives such as Scalebound, Crackdown and Quantum Break for example will be making an appearance having been saved specifically for Gamescom. Furthermore they will also be running another Xbox Fanfest as they did at E3 in which a selection of fans will get exclusive access to some of what they have in store.
Finally, whilst this isn’t entirely relevant to watchers at home, Microsoft have said that their public booth will be open from August 5th through till August 9th where some of the major exclusive set for a late 2015 launch, such as Halo 5: Guardians, Forza Motorsport 6 and Tomb Raider will be openly available to play to members of the public.
So with all of this in mind, who’ll be watching?
