Mass Effect Andromeda is but weeks away when you think about it, with an official launch date of March 21st. We will all be shooting off into the stars, 600 years after the events of the Mass Effect trilogy, but what will we encounter? Who will we meet? What could be worse than the Reapers, eh?
Fortunately enough, our new heroes will have never encountered the Reapers, as they took off on their Andromeda trip at the point that Commander Shepard was announced dead at the beginning of Mass Effect 2. By then, the Reapers were nothing more than a tale that nobody believed in, not even the Citadel counsel.
Joining us on our journey into the Andromeda system is Tom Taylorson and Fryda Wolff, the voice actors of both Scott Ryder and Sarah Ryder, the leading character in the game. Seeing as you will be spending a lot of time listening to these two, it might be worth your while being introduced to the faces behind the voices, and getting to know them a little better.
Tom has some video game voice actor history with Octodad, Dadliest Catch and has voiced ‘The Duck’ in a short film called Suspect Fowl Play. Fryda has a history with Octodad as well, on top of voices in Fallout 4, XCOM 2, Technomancer, Street Fighter V and DC Super Friends as Poison Ivy.
Maybe this video rubbed you the wrong way, or maybe you still feel like you’re going to miss Jennifer Hale or Mark Meer, the voices of male and female Shepard, but it’s time to move on and accept that this is an entirely different game.
Prepare to come out of hyper sleep on March 21st to find a new home for humanity.
