LEGO Worlds, a game inspired by Minecraft, which in turn was inspired by LEGO, is leaving early access and will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Steam next year. Imagine building anything you want in an open world, and sharing it with friends! Now, imagine doing that again, but with LEGO!
Build anything you want in LEGO Worlds, and play it solo, split-screen or online, and do whatever you want in your world. Whether that’s creating little towns or massive cities, race tracks, skate parks, flying races, or adventure parks, the world is your oyster. What it does have over Minecraft however is vehicles, so that’s an interesting positive.
“Alter the landscape with the Creative Tools and sculpt your worlds just how you like them. Discover a gaggle of characters, creatures and vehicles, from farmers to yetis, broomsticks to giant drillers, squirrels to dragons! Or build with individual bricks to create a masterpiece, as you embark on your creative adventure to become a Master Builder!”
A separate LEGO Agents DLC pack, which features new characters, vehicles, weapons and more from the Agents range of play materials, will be available as an exclusive bonus on PlayStation 4 for a limited time.
LEGO Worlds will release in February 24th, 2017 on Xbox One alongside the PlayStation 4 and Steam versions. with or without exclusive DLC. We shall see. Still, a Minecraft clone inspired by the figures and playsets we grew up playing with, doing what it should have done long ago. It looks pretty cool, but will it be enough to match its obvious competitor?
