The release date for the Underground DLC in Tom Clancy’s The Division has been listed as June 28th, 2016. The expansion will release on PC and PS4 in July due to our good old friend “Timed Exclusivity”.
We can likely expect the dates to be confirmed at E3, as well as the first game play footage.
The Amazon listing says:
The first expansion, Underground, takes you into the depths of New York, in order to save what is left. Opponents join forces in the endless maze of tunnels. How low can your team advance? Also experience a new attack and grab the latest weapons and items.
As a regular player of The Division, I fear the timed exclusivity with Xbox One will only hurt the player count on PC and PS4. Update 1.2 is highly regarded among the community and brought a breath of fresh air to the game by introducing some much needed elements. It was enough to win a lot of people back, but whether we like it or not, the player count is decreasing across the board and the timed exclusivity (which is only valid for the first two expansions) is not going to help matters.
E3 is only around the corner, so let’s just wait and see what Massive have up their sleeves. Let’s hope it’s something massive….
