Last week, half a dozen new titles became available on the Xbox One’s backwards compatibility list. While not games that people were screaming for, some of them were pretty decent additions, and rumours suggest a few more will arrive in time for, or ahead of E3.
The latest titles to be added last week were SSX, Domino Master, DuckTales: Remastered, Hexic 2, Magic 2012, Unbound Saga and XCOM: Enemy Unknown.
XCOM: Enemy Unknown is one of the June Games with Gold titles alongside Super Meat Boy, which in itself is another game being added to the list. Remember that any Xbox 360 Games with Gold title is playable on Xbox One as of last November.
Interestingly enough, Amazon listed SSX before its availability on the Xbox One’s back compatibility, and it also listed a bunch of other games on sale in digital code format. These titles include some of EA’s old gen hits as well as some other interesting titles.
The EA titles listed are :
- Dragon Age II
- Fight Night Round 4
- Burnout Revenge
- Fable Anniversary
- Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit
Express.co.uk report that “Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is currently being advertised as Xbox One Backwards Compatible, but does not have a fixed release date and hasn’t been confirmed for the program on the official site.
It is the only one of the bunch that has this confirmation, Dragon Age II arrives June 14 at 12:00am PST, as does Fight Night Round 4 and Burnout Revenge.
Crackdown 2 was also listed for sale on Amazon with an Xbox One compatible tag, alongside Halo 3: ODST, although both listings have since been altered.”
Why Fight Night Round 4 is listed and not the more recent Fight Night Champion is unknown, and I’m hoping Champion does make it onto the backwards compatibility list in the future. After the release of Call of Duty Black Ops this month, fans are now hoping that Black Ops 2 makes the list soon too, but that’s up to Activision. It may not come for some time, but who knows? We’re also still waiting on Skate 3 which has been teased for months.
