Konami don’t have any plans to expand Metal Gear Solid V’s story

Metal Gear Solid VThe news come after a Twitter conversation between community manager for the Metal Gear Solid series Robert Allan Peeler and a fan revealed that Konami currently have no DLC in the works for the story behind MGSV: The Phantom Pain. All foreseeable new content for the game will come in the form of costumes which were recently shown at the Tokyo Game Show last week.

To be honest, the news does come as a little bit of a shock to us here at 4-One Gaming, especially given the media’s only criticism of MGSV: The Phantom Pain has been on the games supposed “vague story”. Although I personally have never been a die-hard fan of the series, I can honestly say that Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is one of Metal Gear Solid Vthe best games I’ve ever played in the genre, and would love to see it expanded (although I’m yet to finish the vast majority of the content already available).

The news came from a Tweet to a fan which was part of an overall bigger conversation surrounding the game, MGSV DLC has already been revealed in the form of costumes for both Snake and his trusty Horse companion (view below). However Peeler also confirmed, via Twitter again, that “Camp Omega”, a setting from The Phantom Pain’s prequel (Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes), would be making a return in the form of a setting in Metal Gear Online. Which is probably where the rumors of Story based DLC came from after Hideo Kojima, teased that fans would be able to return to the location if they owned Ground Zeroes. Unfortunately this seems to have been mis-interrupted information.

While this may come as a disappointment to some, what we need to remember is the sheer amount of content that is already available in this game. And that’s not even taking into account the sheer scale of the “replay value” which could see dedicated fans repeating a lot of the missions to achieve addition objectives. Still, let’s not close this one off, it’s a good subject to open for discussion. MGSV: The Phantom Pain fans, would you like to see additional content in the near future, let us know below!
