A report from a French gaming outlet claims that a source close to Injustice Gods Among Us believes a sequel is on its way, with a reveal to come very soon, possibly before E3. Following the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and the future releases of Justice League movies, this could be a well timed release, if true.
If the report is true, then Injustice Gods Among Us 2 will be releasing for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a March, 2017 release date penned in. The report also says that it will be developed using NetherRealm’s awesome looking Mortal Kombat X engine, and anyone who has played that should rightfully be excited about how good the next Injustice may look.
It’s been two years since NetherRealm released Mortal Kombat X so an announcement regarding a new game isn’t unlikely. I enjoyed the first game immensely myself, although it felt a little stiff compared to other fighters. The story mode was done fantastically well and with the ball rolling on the Injustice movies, the tie-in potential could be fantastic.
