HTC Vive to show off a “very big” technological breakthrough next year at CES

HTCViveWe’re slowly approaching the age of Virtual Reality. With the Oculus Rift gaining mainstream attention, Sony working on Playstation VR and Valve partnering with HTC to develop the HTC Vive headset, soon we will be able to reach a new form of immersion (As long as things go right of course! We mustn’t be blinded by the hype).

There’s some bad and good news regarding Valve VR headset: The HTC Vive. The bad news is that it got delayed to April 2016, the good news? It looks like the development team made a very big technological breakthrough.

Accordiing to Vive CEO Cher Wang at the Vive Unbound Developers forum,  Valve and her team made a “very, very big technological breakthrough” regarding their Virtual Reality system, apparently so big that they decided to delay the release date so that customers aren’t forced to swap devices so early.

Whatever this new innovation may be, it will be unveiled at CES next month.
