Turn 10 Studios have released yet another car pack to Forza Motorsport 6 further increasing the roster of vehicles available to use in the game. This one is a little more elaborate than the last having been themed on the legendary toy car brand, Hot Wheels.
Before I go any further I’d just like to express my excitement for this car pack purely because of one car I’ve been anticipating the launch of since it was announced back in 2015. The 2017 Ford Focus RS, due to launch to the real-world market… Well now. I am a HUGE fan of Fast Fords, I own one, I want to own more and have been waiting to get my hands on the new RS in-game since Forza Motorsport 6 was released. Disappointingly, despite Ford being the headline manufacturer of Forza 6 it was absent for the list of launch day cars, so I’ve had to wait until now. But enough about that, let’s get to the rest of the pack.
Sadly, Turn 10 Studios clearly don’t share my enthusiasm for the Focus and have instead decided to headline the pack using two vehicles inspired by the world of Hot Wheels. The 2011 Hot Wheels Bone Shaker, and the 2005 Hot Wheels Mustang, two very unique and very iconic cars in the world of Motorsport. The Bone Shaker originated as a Hot Wheels die-cast model, where it became popular enough to warrant its full-sized birth. Every single detail that gave the model it’s popularity was put into the life-size version while the small-block engine with its straight through pipes were chosen to make the car perform ad sound as intimidating as it looks. Needless to say, if you saw this in your rear view mirror, you’d get out-of-the-way.
The Mustang on the other hand was built to celebrate 50 years of Mustang and was again based on a Hot Wheels model. The wheels are one-of-a-kind and specifically built for this car, mis-match color intended, while the body styling is designed to represent Japanese Race cars. Needless to say you’ll never see two of either one of these machines on the road but you can at least now experience the savagery that they bring to motor racing through your Xbox One.
Other cars featured include the McLaren P1 GTR which pretty much lives right at the top of the leader board when it comes it blistering performance and speed. The 1990 1 Ferrari Scuderia 641, famous for its part in the legendary Formula 1 battle between Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna in 1990. The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport, a legendary all American Muscle car by any standards and finally the BMW X6M… Which bares about as much relevance to Motorsport as the Footballer’s wives who drive them. Seriously Turn 10 we paid good money for this.
So with exception to that one car, a good strong offering to the ever-growing list of cars for the Forza community. I feel a community night coming on.
