Could you play for 24 hours for Cancer research? Macmillan, a Cancer support charity residing in the United Kingdom, are hosting 24 hours gaming marathons to raise money for their work. Interested? Well now anyone can sign up for their own marathon.
Obviously 24 hour gaming marathons are nothing new, and for those of you who’ve never heard of it, it’s not something to be taken for granted. But Macmillan are taking it to the ‘next level’ by adding them to their list of charitable events under the title of “Game Changers”. It’s an interesting concept that appeals to an absolutely huge amount of people who don’t really fancy jumping out of a plane or spending the night in their local high street to raise money.
Needless to say there are some rules involved, but Macmillan aren’t the sort of people to encourage people to quite literally sit in front of their televisions for 24 hours straight. If you’d be interested in hosting your own marathon to raise a bit of money for charity then all you have to do is set up a date, rake in some donations and prepare yourself in whatever way you can, we recommend lots and lots of practice… Obviously. When it comes to the actual event Macmillan are encouraging people to take plenty of meal, rest and bathroom breaks where possible and if at any point during your marathon you begin to feel unwell or unable to continue for whatever reason, do so.
So with all of that in mind we would now like to see if this is a viable idea to raise money for a chosen charity through 4-One Gaming. If you would be willing to support one of our admins to embark on a 24 hour gaming marathon to raise money for a chosen charity then we’d like to hear from you.
