halo warsToday, Xbox Live’s Major Nelson announced via Twitter that Halo Wars is becoming available on Xbox One’s Backwards Compatibility feature. Fans have been crying out for this game to be made playable on their new consoles, and here’s even better news. If you are an Xbox Preview Member, you can install it now.

That’s right. Halo Wars for the Xbox 360 is playable on Xbox One only if you’re a Preview Member. If you have the game purchased digitally, you should be able to find it in the Ready to Install section of My Games & Apps. For those who don’t know what Halo Wars is, it’s a Real-Time Strategy take on the Halo universe where you control units and vehicles from a top down view, and itt works very well. Even better, it features campaign co-op play, as well as extremely well made CG cutscenes.

Aside from that great news, yesterday Major Nelson also announced that the list of Backwards Compatible titles had been updated with three new games. You can see them in the grid below.
