Halo Wars 2, which was announced last year and due for release this holiday, looks like it will be getting a public beta beginning next week. Found via a snooping Xbox One user, the information was found via the Xbox community head, Major Nelson.
The posting on the Xbox Marketplace informs fans that they will have the opportunity to play Halo Wars 2 for one week starting June 13th, until June 20th. Expect an announcement during the Xbox media briefing from Phil Spencer along the lines of “and it’s available to play right now.”
“Be among the first to experience the explosive return of real-time strategy to the Halo universe in the Halo Wars 2 Multiplayer Beta for Xbox One,” the listing reads. Support for online play with up to six people is included.
Halo Wars 2 will be released simultaneously on Windows 10 and Xbox One on October 4th, and is being developed by Creative Assembly, who are responsible for the Total War series and Alien Isolation, more recently.
