Halo Wars 2’s launch is just around the corner, with a launch date of February 17th, and ahead of it comes the launch trailer. Now take this as you wish, but I know we’re all here for games and all, but for the uninitiated, you would be forgiven for thinking that this is actually a trailer for an animated movie, and that’s a testament to the fantastic work involved by Blur Studio and 343 Industries.
But it’s a game, we all know that. And a Halo one at that. Well, not a traditional Halo title, but a Real-Time Strategy one, which is a sequel to, of course, Halo Wars 1. Creative Assembly is taking the helm this time around and for that reason, you should be excited by the prospect of going into full scale war as either the UNSC or as the splinter Covenant group called The Banished.
“Lead armies of Spartans and other Halo fighting forces like Warthogs, Scorpions and exciting new units in a brutal war against a terrifying new enemy. Featuring campaign, multiplayer, and the all-new Blitz mode, this is the biggest Halo battlefield ever.”
Halo Wars 2 will feature two full campaigns to play through, one from each side, and a suite of multiplayer modes for up to 6 players, either human or AI. Can you outwit and demolish your opponents online? Will you make an excellent comeback and turn it all around?
Anyway, this trailer is fantastic and the cinematics are top notch. Now, can the fans have a full-length animated Halo movie, please?
Halo Wars 2 launches on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs on February 17th, and is a Play Anywhere title, meaning if you buy one, you get the other, and your save carries back and forth via the cloud.
