Starting today, you can check out the beta for a new game mode coming to Halo Wars 2. Halo Wars is a Real-Time Strategy title set in the Halo universe, which sees you command squads of units from an overhead view. If you have fond memories of Warcraft or Command & Conquer, you should definitely check this out!
“Blitz is a new, innovative and action-packed twist on RTS gameplay that combines card-based strategy with explosive combat. Your card deck is your army in Blitz as you build collections of powerful Halo vehicles and troops and command those units in fast-action battles.”
The multiplayer beta is available from today, January 20th until the 30th of the month. Give it a whirl on both Xbox One and Windows 10. I’m sure Creative Assembly and Xbox could do with the feedback anyway, but consider it a demo I guess? You can start the download here.
Halo Wars 2 will feature a full single player campaign, which is also playable in co-op, and gives you the chance to play through it as either the UNSC or the new evil force, ‘The Banished’. It will also feature a multiplayer suite for up to 6 players, including objective-based gameplay, co-op and skirmish modes. As well as Blitz, which you can try for yourself now.
