Halo 5: Guardian’s next free update is due to hit some time in May. It’s been titled “Memories of Reach” and features content from what many Halo fans regard as the best title in the series, Halo: Reach. Headlining this latest update is the eagerly anticipated “Infection” mode, along with weapons, skins, armor, a new map and more.
Unfortunately as it stands at the moment we don’t have a specific date, but what we do know is 343 Industries will be looking to release Memories of Reach some time in ‘early’ May, but not this week. So we can only assume that it’s at least 7 days away. However what we do know is that, as promised, the update will be completely free of charge, seems there is a good side of micro-transactions after all.
When the update does eventually launch it’ll also contain a bit of a weapon re-balance addressing several issues regarding some of the games rare weapons. As a whole, 343 Industries are quite happy with weapon performance in Halo 5: Guardians, however a new metric has been designed to address some instances where rare weapons were not performing as they should, and were therefore less effective than some of the common which can be acquired through the games REQ system, Pool of Radiance for example, which was found to not be applying damage over time like it should. What that basically means is that the patch will contain some buffs and nerfs to help re-balance weapons in the game.
For those of you who would like a little more detail regarding the up-coming update, Halo Waypoint has a full breakdown of what’s coming with Halo 5 Guardians: Memories of Reach. Personally I’ve been looking forward to the Infection mode with the new mechanics introduced with Halo 5 for some time. In fact I feel a community game night coming on!
