Guardians of the Galaxy 2 Sneak Peek Trailer

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 CoverHello everyone, for all of our fans of classic 70’s music and space comedies, Marvel has just released a sneak peek trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy 2. Set to follow in the steps of the hit 2014 film, we’re hoping to see more Starlord, more Rocket, maybe even some Thanos in this highly anticipated sequel.

Now, if you’re anything like me, you’ve been waiting for anything new on this movie for the past few months. Hoping for any sign of what the plot of this movie will entail, antagonist or if it will relate to the other MCU properties in the future. Though in all honesty, any story involving this lovable cast will be entertaining. As for the trailer itself, you can watch that below.

After having viewed the trailer, there’s a few specific points that I’m personally excited about. First off, I’m glad that they’re still incorporating Yondu to some point, even if it’s just for the scene in the trailer. Hopefully all those people flying through the air is because of Yondu and he’s just strolling through them to be a badass. As for another point, I’m excited to see Nebula is still in this to some extent (probably as a runaway convict), as she play’s a large role in the comics, especially the Infinity War. As a final point, if you watched all the way to the end of the trailer, you’ll notice that Groot is back, and he’s still in baby Groot form. I think this was a great choice, as it takes away the powerhouse of the Guardians, but still allows him to bring the same comedic nature from the previous film, albeit in baby form.

Another point to take into account is that it seems Starlord and Gamora’s seeming relationship from the last film isn’t as cemented as we thought. Even though it seemed there was going to be an established romantic plot in the film, they’ve instead decided to have Starlord continue to woo Gamora into a relationship. Whilst I do enjoy this kind of plot in a film, I feel likes it been done too many times in Marvel films, and I for one would enjoy seeing an actual relationship between two main protagonists in a Marvel film.

With the release for this movie being set in the Summer of 2017, it seems this Summer will have at least one movie gem in it to look forward to.
