When the Ill-Gotten Gains 2 DLC dropped a couple of weeks ago, players on the PC version reported frame rate drops in their game. Rockstar have since addressed the issue, pushing out a patch over night.
The patch weights in at 91mb, but Rockstar warn that some single player mods may be affected by the latest update. In their update, they note:
“We also received some reports linking decreased performance when using Story Mode mods to TU 1.28. As mentioned previously, we are not actively targeting players using mods in Story Mode, nor are we explicitly implementing protections against them in-game. Our primary focus is on protecting GTA Online against modifications that could give players an unfair advantage, disrupt gameplay, or cause griefing. However, as a reminder, mods are still unauthorized and as such, Title Updates may cause Story Mode mods to behave in unexpected ways because they are not supported or tested, and players run them at their own risk.”
Ill-Gotten Gains part 1 and 2 increased the selection of vehicles, weapons and clothing in storefronts across Los Santos in GTA Online, but they did not add any new gameplay modes or mechanics. Last weekend, Rockstar doubled the take and Respect Points for the Prison Break Heist, and as of yesterday until the 26th of July, players can now take advantage of double payouts and RP on the Humane Labs Heist.
