Last week, Sony and Polyphony Digital unveiled more of Gran Turismo Sport, as well as announcing a release date of November for PlayStation 4 racing fans. New screenshots have since been released, and we’ve picked out a few of the nicer looking ones for you to drool over.
“Gran Turismo Sport is the world’s first racing experience to be built from the ground up to bring global, online competitions sanctioned by the highest governing body of international motorsports, the FIA (Federation International Automobile). Create your legacy as you represent and compete for your home country or favorite manufacturer through multiple race classes, including GT3, Prototype, Rally, and more.”
The game itself is an interesting concept, and the idea of receiving real world recognition and qualifications just from playing a game, albeit to a high level of skill and abilities. However, it’s not Gran Turismo 7, which many fans yearn for. I’m surprised Sony didn’t repackage GT6 and release it on PlayStation 4, seeing as it arrived late to PlayStation 3, while everyone was moving onto their latest platform.
Gran Turismo Sport will focus on competitive gameplay for hardcore racers across the world. It will feature about 140 cars and a bunch of locations, though I can’t confirm the exact figure right now. Let’s hope it’s a game that can be enjoyed by all, but from the offset, it looks like a game for the elite virtual drivers around the world. If you missed the trailer, you can find it below the screenshots.
