Sony and Polyphony Digital have announced an upcoming closed beta for Gran Turismo Sport, a competitive version of the popular Gran Turismo series that will see racers clambering for the best laptimes and performances on track and dirt.
“Participants will be able to choose from a select rotation of cars and tracks each day to race online against others during the beta phases. Track and car selections will vary during this period, and we made sure to offer different race class categories and course configurations to properly test our GT fans!”
You will also get a chance to witness the new Driver Profile integration within GT Sport, which will track all drivers’ performance ability and style of racing – whether they’re clean or downright dirty. These measures will aim to match make you with similar performing racers online, meaning better and more competitive racing.
The initial phase of the closed beta, starting on 17 March, will only be open to selected US PSN IDs. After this initial phase, the beta will be opened to European players.
If you’re interested in signing up to take part in the Gran Turismo Sport beta, you can click here, and if you’re waiting for the release of the full title, you may have to wait until later in 2017. No specific date has been announced, apart from its obvious delay which we’ve now surpassed.
