Gears of War 4, Elite Gears Controller, Raam in Killer Instinct

gears of war 4 square picDue to the amount of Gears of War related stories during the Xbox E3 show, I thought it would be best to squeeze them all into one single article, to save you searching all over the place. We got another look at the Gears of War 4 campaign, as well as confirmation of General Raam joining the roster of Killer Instinct. We also got a look at the gorgeous looking Gears of War Elite controller for Xbox One.

The demo featured JD Fenix and his friends Kait and Del as they fight for survival against ferocious new enemies amidst violent wind flares that bring new dynamic gameplay as they rip through the lands of Sera and alter the battlefield. We got a look at the Dropshot in action, as well as the Buzzkill, a weapon that launches disc blades that bounce off of any solid surface, slicing through the flesh of enemies, and your own if you’re not careful!

Gears of War 4 will also bring back Horde mode. Entitle Horde 3.0, it will include new classes, skills and abilities tied to cards and more. The Coalition are confident this will be the Horde mode that everyone is dying to play with friends. Additionally, Gears of War 4 will feature cross-play on Xbox One and Windows 10 for all co-op modes (campaign, Horde and Co-op Versus), and 4K support for Windows 10. As an Xbox Play Anywhere title, you’ll receive both versions of the game with a single purchase, and be able to switch seamlessly between them through our shared progression system (enabled through cloud saves).

It was also announced that General RAAM, the baddie in the first Gears of War, will be joining the roster in Killer Instinct Season 3. “Brandishing his wickedly brutal blade, and wielding innate control of the carnivorous Kryll, General RAAM – military leader of the Locust Horde – is sure to strike fear into the heart of any opponent. Unleash heavy punishing attacks, brutal blade combos, and command Kryll swarms for offense or defense. Locust Queen Myrrah’s personal champion is sure to provide a challenge to all comers… and he’s free for all Killer Instinct players this week!”

Lastly, we have the Gears of War 4 Elite controller for Xbox One. The video got me super excited, and the weapon icons on the d-pad sold it for me. Just look at it!!!
