On Twitter, Randy Pitchford, the head behind Gearbox Studios who are responsible for Borderlands, Battleborn and even Duke Nukem Forever has teased an upcoming announcement penned for December 1st. That is also the day of The Game Awards. Coincidence? I think not.
The tease came via Twitter, where Randy tweeted that someone was angry with Gears of War 4, and thought Gearbox were responsible for it. Perhaps it was just a mistake on the user’s part, but what followed was a fan dreamt-up idea about Duke Nukem crossing over with Gears of War.
Randy then answer with “On December 1st, we are announcing something you might really enjoy 🙂 .” What could it be? Definitely not Battleborn, I’m assuming. More Duke Nukem after the 20th anniversary release a few months back? Borderlands 3? Is it time enough for that to begin happening?

Or, could it be another Aliens Colonial Marines game? Ha. Let’s hope for a new Borderlands, or another Duke Nukem title, shall we? Something else? Let us know in the comments! Gearbox Software acquired the Duke Nukem license and finished off and released Duke Nukem Forever, following its 14 years of development hell. It wasn’t great, and felt like it was lost in time, how it played. However, it’s been a few years since the release of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel so a completely new title isn’t out of the question.
