One of the scariest gaming experiences of the year has a new piece of gameplay footage from the alpha build, and if this doesn’t send a shiver down your spine, you didn’t grow up watching Friday the 13th!
The clip is only short, but it shows the game from the victim’s side of the game. It’s an asymmetrical game where one player plays as Jason, and the rest of the players try their hardest to run and hide across various locations. The fear in this girl’s breaths is relative, as the door to the room begins to bang, with Jason on the other side of it. It’s not long before he breaks through, and spots the girl. He then proceeds to do what he does best and ends her life. All pretty grim stuff.
In previous trailers and behind the scenes footage for the Kickstarter-backed game, we saw a montage of the sorts of executions that Jason players will be able to perform, including a few old favourites. And in case you’re unaware of it, the original Jason actor Kane Hodder is on board with the project and is mo-capping all of Jason’s Friday the 13th antics.
Friday the 13th is due to release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in the Fall of this year. Multiplayer with friends is going to be killer!
