Xbox exclusive racing title Forza Motorsport is following in the footsteps of Rise of the Tomb Raider and Quantum Break, with a move over to PC supposedly coming this spring. The official announcement hasn’t been made, but the news comes out of the Microsoft event that took place last Thursday behind closed doors.
The game will be called Forza Motorsport: Apex, according to the Seattle Times in their published story from February 29th. It won’t be the full version of Forza Motorsport 6, but instead a free-to-play version where Windows 10 players can pick and choose what cars and content they want from the content-heavy racer.
“We are 100 percent committed to the PC-gaming space,” said Phil Spencer, who leads Microsoft’s Xbox group. “That is a long-term commitment from us.”
Racing sims and arcade racers aren’t exactly scarce on PC, and with competition such as Project CARS and iRacer to name a few, Forza Motorsport will face a tough, competitive grid. Details about what Apex will offer right now is scarce, but expect a full update from Microsoft or Turn 10 Studios, the game’s developer very soon.
Forza 6 released last autumn/Fall for Xbox One and was extremely well received. Here’s our review for a recap.
