For the first time in Forza Motorsport’s 10 years of games, weather will be part of the experience, with Forza Motorsport 6 introducing rain into the mix. Not only that, but the level of detail being implemented means that every single puddle on every single real life location will be there because of the surface of the roads. Every track is so detailed, that rain will build up in game just like in real life on the circuits.
The puddles will be 3D too, meaning that the depth of the puddle can impact your car more than you might expect, causing you to lose traction and spin off the track. Forza Motorsport 6 includes 148 drivable surfaces, whether cement, tarmac, the rumble strips, grass, gravel, they are all impacted in different ways, based on the weather conditions you’re driving in.
Forza Motorsport 6 will include 26 racing locations to choose from, and 450 cars at launch. We expect more cars to arrive via monthly DLC as with Forza 5 and Forza Horizon 2, and on top of the details about the rain, there was some more information regarding multiplayer lobbies.
Ranked lobbies will be making their way to Forza 6, offering drivers the opportunity to take part in weekly run events, with prizes up for grabs. You will be ranked in league events based on your speed and your professionalism. In other words, if you’re in any way involved with the crash teams that terrorise online competitive lobbies, then good luck. You won’t be getting into the good leagues. Happy days for us enthusiasts. You can learn more about that from Dan Greenawalt, head of Turn 10 Studios, in the clip below.
