One of Forza Motorsport 6’s best features is the way it lets you import any of your logos, graphics, designs and car tunes from Forza Motorsport 5, and Forza Horizon 2. While that’s awesome news for painters and tuners who played one or both of those titles, how exactly do you do it? Here’s our quick little guide to get you up to speed.
Car liveries are pretty straight forward, and funnily enough, the one we found out last! We were over-thinking things. It takes a few seconds to import each design, but it can save you hours of painting the exact same car you had in the last two games, meaning you have more time to race them. As well as that, you can also share them right away, putting them up on the marketplace for other Forza 6 players to download and race with.
From the main menu, simply tab right until you reach the Customize section. On the right side of that, you will see ‘Paint Car’. When you enter this area, press right a few times, and you’ll find ‘My Designs’. In here, you will see any designs that you currently have downloaded in Forza Motorsport 6. Simply press the Right Bumper, or RB, and the game will search for your Horizon 2 designs. Tab right again, and you will see your Motorsport 5 designs. Simply press A over the design you wish to import, and the rest is self-explanatory. From here, you can also share them, give them a description, and keywords associated with them, such as ‘Original’ if it’s not a replica, or anything else that suits your creativity.
Next up is Vinyl Groups. These would be your logos, characters, registration plates, anything you’ve made to stick on your base livery. From the same Customization tab on the main menu, look for ‘My Vinyl Groups’. The first thing you will see, if at all, are your vinyl groups already downloaded in Forza Motorsport 6. Again, hit RB and the game will search for your Horizon 2 vinyls and then your Forza 5 vinyls. Press A over each one you want to install, choose whether you want to share it with the public or not, and they will be available to apply as stickers when you’re painting any future cars you buy.
Finally we have the car tunes. Without a good tune, your fancy looking car won’t do very well, and you want your beautifully painted car to talk the talk while walking the walk. From the main menu, go the the Tune tab, which is just left of Customize. In the middle of the screen, you will see a spanner with the title ‘My Tunes’. Click in there and like with the vinyls or car designs, you will see your Forza 6 downloads. Tab right to get Horizon 2’s car setups and tab again with RB to get your Forza 5 setups.
Now you’re good to go, saving you hours and hours of painting and tuning, and you can head onto the track with confidence, and style, topping leaderboards and public lobbies like a champion!
