Forza Horizon 3 is enjoying a healthy life and some good adventures on both Xbox One and PC since its October release, and the content keeps on coming. From monthly car packs to weekly Forzathon events, the engine is still running, and Playground Games have began teasing the future expansion pack due by the year’s end.
First up is the AlpineStars car pack which hit the game yesterday, adding 7 new vehicles to power around Australia in. The pack includes the 1998 Nissan Silvia K’s and the 1990 Mazda Savanna RX-7; two of the most requested cars in the Forza community, the Ford Falcon XR GT, a street-legal racer in Dodge Viper ACR, and more. Check ’em all out in the trailer below. The pack is free for those who possess the Car Pass, but players can also get the pack as a standalone purchase for $6.99
As well as that, Playground Games have teased some new premium content on the way near the year’s end. “Winter is coming and that means some less-than-ideal road conditions. Here is a peek at what you will be facing in the first Forza Horizon 3 expansion later this year.”
When you think of Australia, you rarely imagine it being covered in snow. That’s not to say it doesn’t happen, as the south of the continent gets its fair share of the glorious white stuff. This means that the expansion for Forza Horizon 3 could take us down to places like New South Wales, Victoria and Tasmania. I expect that the expansion will be a cordoned off area much like Storm Island from Forza Horizon 2, so don’t expect the map to expand, especially with it potentially locking non-expansion pass owners out.
The expansion pass costs an additional $35, with Ultimate Edition owners getting a ten dollar or its equivalent value off the full price.
