Since the release of Street Fighter V on PlayStation 4 and PC, fans have complained about the lack of content, while some have put the game down while they wait for it to become more content-filled. A story mode was promised, and it will come later this month.
“A Shadow Falls delivers a five-chapter story wedged between Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter III intended to “bridge the events that happen in between the two stories.” According to Capcom, it’s the first time in franchise history that fans will be able to play through “this type of cinematic experience” in a Street Fighter game.”
The first 10 minutes of the campaign’s cinematics have been posted online, and may feature some spoilers. Watch it if you want, or parts of it, it’s up to you.
“A Shadow Falls will center on the “ultimate battle” between the Shadaloo organization and the World Warriors. M. Bison is granted “unimaginable power” when seven Black Moons are deployed by Shadaloo. Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li spot the moons in the sky and head out on a journey to stop them. On their way, they encounter the rest of the World Warriors, “each of whom have their own agendas and motivations in mind.”
All six DLC characters are “fully playable” in Street Fighter V’s story mode—Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Urien, and Juri. Though some of those characters won’t be officially released until “later in the year,” story mode players will get to try them out in advance.
