This year at E3, we learned that Final Fantasy VII was receiving the remake treatment, following its incredible amount of requests from fans over the years since its 1997 release. While no confirmed release date has been announced, you can now play the original game on iOS while you wait.
Yesterday, Final Fantasy VII became available on iOS devices. The game requires 4gb of free space on your iPhone or iPad, and you will be paying £8/$19.99 for the luxury of playing it, if you’re interested. You can find it on the App Store here.
The iOS version will include new features such as disabling encounters in the world map, and allow you to adjust how you play the game, whether analogue or digital 4-way controls, similar to the original PlayStation version. You can also adjust the opacity of the onscreen controller. This version of the game will also be coming to PlayStation 4 on October 16th, priced at around $16.
Check out the launch trailer below, and let us know if you would be interested in checking it out, or if the asking price is a bit much for a mobile version of the game.
