Fast & Furious 8 is taking a bold turn into unfamiliar territory, or is it? The new trailer, dubbing the movie as ‘The Fate of the Furious’ shows Dom breaking away from the established crew, and teaming up with Charlize Theron.
The Fate of the Furious is the first movie in the franchise since the death of Paul Walker, a staple in the series since it all began in 2001. The cast has expanded since then, with touches of comedy, adrenaline-pumping action, and has turned into more of a heist movie series as opposed to illegal street racing. Where the series will go next, who knows? To space?!
The trailer features all of the hallmarks that is associated with the Fast & Furious franchise, from super cars to guns, tanks and explosions. The crew is joined by a returning Jason Statham, who appeared in the last movie determined to take down the team. Now he’s working with them to catch Dom, who seems to have alternative motives. It certainly looks interesting.
I’m a huge fan of the franchise and I’m curious to learn why Dom took off on his own agenda, and as for the direction the series is going, I don’t care. They’re a blast to watch, so stock up on your popcorn spending money and prepare for 2017.
