At The Game Awards last night, Ubisoft revealed a new trailer for Far Cry Primal, which was first unveiled in October this year. In saying that, the game already looks interesting, and fantastic. It’s odd that it is releasing so soon after its announcement, but watching this new trailer, it looks like it’s going to be astonishing.
The emphasis on this new Far Cry Primal trailer is its main character, and how he is the ‘beast master’, able to tame the wild beasts that inhabit the land or Oro, the game’s setting. Using spears, bows and blades, tackle these creatures down to the ground and make them fight by your side. Once achieved, you can issue them commands, and create some fantastic strategies in combat. The game looks absolutely brutal, and probably the most graphic game in the Far Cry series.
“At the beginning of the game, you’re naked, so you have to craft everything, you have to gather resources,” says Jean-Cristophe Guyot, Far Cry Primal’s creative director. “Night is super-dangerous, because that’s when the predators come out, so you have to have fire to protect yourself and repel the animals. If you go up in the north, it’s very cold, so you’ll also need the fire there to keep yourself warm. If you explore caves, fire is very useful.”
Use owls to scout out areas before you attack settlements, and craft weapons and armour for yourself with the resources you gather. Far Cry Primal will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on Feburary 23rd. One to add to your list by the look of it!
