Fallout Fan Releases Pip-boy Schematic for 3D Printing

Bethesda have already said that they will be unable to make any more pipboys as demand exceeds the manufacturers capabilities, but there is still hope for those of you who were unable to pre-order.

A 3D printing enthusiast, Yvo de Haas, has recreated the Fallout 4 pip boy 3000 Mark IV using a 3D printer, and has released the schematics for how you can create one yourself.

As you might expect, it won’t come with everything that the official one does, however it is designed to house a mobile phone. It also has a tape player!…. though it won’t play them… but it’s something right?

Haas wanted to make the Pip-Boy as authentic as possible, but only had a few points of reference in order to do so from the teaser and E3 videos, but fair dues as it looks pretty darn close. He is also in the process of creating a more “authentic” one seen from the game, though it won’t be able to house as many phones due to it being somewhat smaller.

“The Pip-Boy is already extremely difficult to design with proper reference, but now there is only a teaser trailer and the E3 video. This does not give the kind of reference I usually have,” Haas explained.

This is not Haas’s first time creating a Pip-Boy, also re-creating the Pip-Boy 3000 seen in Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

While you might not have been able to get the official Bethesda one, this definitely is the second best option… Or you could just tape your phone to your arm…. Whatever…
