Bethesda are hyping up a reveal of Fallout 4 VR at this year’s E3 in June. Having released Fallout 4 nearly a year and a half ago, will it be as welcomed again, or would fans prefer a new Elder Scrolls with VR support?
Pete Hines of Bethesda told “You can’t even imagine what it’s like, playing in VR and how realistic it looks and everywhere you turn your head. It is going to blow your mind. It is the craziest thing you’ve ever seen.” He said that series creator, Todd Howard told him that “it’s the most incredible thing you’ve ever seen in your life.” Strong words in this day and age, but at least he’s excited about it!
Fallout 4 itself was received with mixed criticism. On one hand, it played great, was very accessible, and in general, was more of the Fallout universe. The more invested, hardcore fans complained that it was a step down from Fallout 3 and the Obsidian developed Fallout New Vegas. It catered too much to shooter fans, and less so to RPG fans with its choices and decision making.
Would you be willing to experience it all again in virtual reality though? You should expect it to release on PlayStation VR and other popular VR headsets, and maybe on the upcoming Scorpio too.
