F2P mech shooter Hawken coming to consoles in July

hawkenFree to Play mech combat game Hawken is making its way onto PlayStation 4 (July 8th) and Xbox One (July 1st). It has been available on PC for some time, but thanks to Reloaded Games, console fans will be able to get in on the massive battles that are sure to ensue.

First things first, console players need not worry about the control systems, as the game was designed with controllers in mind, believe it or not.

There are 3 classes of mechs to choose from, offering 15 different builds. They include, light, medium and heavy classes, depending on the way you want to play and the maneuverability/armour you wish to take advantage of.

Weapons range from primary and secondary weapons, which feature the likes of cannons, machine guns, sniper rifles, grenade launchers, RPGs and heatseeking missiles. A sniping light mech, thank you very much!

Hawken also  features six game modes: Team Deathmatch, Deathmatch, Co-op Bot Destruction, Co-op Bot Team Deathmatch, Siege and Missile Assault.

“In the Hawken lore, approximately 60 years from now humanity has pioneered hyperdrive technology allowing for deep space exploration. From there, terraforming and colonising efforts build a network of habitable planets. Eventually this leads to the discovery of a planet named Illal, which is deemed too risky and expensive to terraform. However, the potential profit prompts a set of multi-planetary corporations (MPCs) to purchase permission to do so privately,” Josh Clausen of Reloaded Games told PlayStation Blog.

You can pre-install Hawken on Xbox One to have it ready for release right now.
