EA yesterday revealed the date of their EA Play show, an event the publisher held in the past two years, separating itself from the E3 event. The show is presented live to the media, enjoyable online, while gamers can come along and play the games first hand for themselves.
“So let’s get to it. From June 10 – 12, players joining us in Hollywood will get hands on with the next Star Wars™ Battlefront and Need for Speed™ experiences. You’ll also get your first chance to play many of our upcoming EA SPORTS™ titles: Madden NFL 18, FIFA 18 and NBA LIVE 18. This isn’t all, by the way…and we’ll have more to share in the coming months.”
We haven’t seen or heard anything much about Star Wars Battlefront 2 or a new Need for Speed, but I’m certainly all for the latter. I really enjoyed the 2015 release, although I didn’t go back to it much following its launch weekend. It received tremendous support over the following year and a bit though. As for Star Wars, I feel I could live without it, unless it really overhauls the experience of the first game.
While sports games are to be expected, it’s what EA didn’t list that’s interesting. With rumours and teases of a Skate 4, will we see that announced, and perhaps playable at EA Play in June? Is there anything else you’re hoping they show off this summer?
Tickets will go on sale on April 20th. You can bookmark this website if you’re hoping to grab a ticket yourself.
