Last week, we got a glimpse at DOOM’s multiplayer maps in a short showcase video. This week, we get a look at the game modes that we’ll be fragging our friends on come May. Summer is about to get a whole lot hotter, and extremely brutal!
DOOM will include six multiplayer modes when the game launches on May 21st. There could be more in the future, who knows, but six will do for the time being! The modes include titles such as Soul Harvest, Freeze Tag, Warpath, Clan Arena, Domination and Team Deathmatch. You can gather what some of these are about, but for the others, we’ll fill you in below.
Soul Harvest is something similar to Call of Duty’s Kill Confirmed, where the kill is fine, but you need to harvest their soul to get the most points.
Freeze Tag asks you to freeze your enemies while also thawing out your buddies. If one side is completely frozen, they lose. It sounds like it could make for a fun take on team deathmatch, and offer great feels of relief when you save a team mate!
Warpath is like king of the hill, but the capture area is on the move throughout the match. A good spin on traditional gameplay, and the constant movement could make things interesting!
Clan Arena is where you go when you and your clan want to settle a dispute with a rival clan, with no weapon pickups, powerups or health regeneration. No more excuses, may the best team win!
