If you missed out on the chance to try out the closed DOOM beta last week due to not owning Wolfenstein: The New Order, well then you’re still in luck. An open beta is coming next week, giving you a chance to go to hell ahead of the game’s release.
The open beta will run from April 15th to the 17th, and feature the same maps and modes found in the closed beta. That will be a traditional Team Deathmatch and the Warpath game mode. Two maps and two modes to play around with for two days. Then, if you like the game, you can buy it in May and enjoy multiplayer and single player content to your heart’s desire.
Bethesda have also revealed what DLC will be coming to DOOM post launch. It will include mixtures of maps, hack tools, playable demons in multiplayer and some objects for map creation. Each of the three DLC packs will cost $14.99, and of course, there is a Season Pass for $39.99 if you want to make sure you get it all for less. The first pack will include the following, releasing later in the summer.
- Three new maps
- One new weapon
- One new playable demon
- One new armor set
- One new piece of equipment
- New hack modules and taunts
- New customization colors and patterns
DOOM is set for release May 13.
