If you’ve been aching to try out the new DOOM game, this weekend is your best chance to do so. The public beta is now live on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and lets you run havoc in the game’s multiplayer suite.
Well, it doesn’t exactly let you run havoc, but there are two game modes to play around in and two maps to venture into, giving you a taste of the multiplayer gameplay to see what all the fuss is about. When the full game releases on May 17th, you will be able to enjoy a full single player campaign, a bigger selection of multiplayer maps and modes, and also create, share and download user created maps. No two matches will ever be the same, if you wish!
The beta start and end times are Friday, April 15, 2016 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time (UTC – 5), ending Sunday, April 17, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (UTC – 5)
In the meantime, Bethesda and ID Software have shared a video on Youtube showing how they have recreated the new reverse-sided box art for retail copies, allowing fans to alter how the game looks on their shelf if they’re not happy with the original artwork. Watch it being speed painted below!
