Along with that, Square Enix also announced this weird tear “reward” system for pre-orders of The Collectors Edition, which I am sure won’t sit well with a lot of people.
Community Manager at Eidos-Montréal, Sacha Ramtohul said on the PlayStation blog:
“In the spirit of player choice, which is at the heart of Deus Ex, we’ve put together a special program called “Augment your Pre-order”. It will let you choose the digital pre-order bonuses you want to get for your Day One edition of the game, selected from five different tiers which will unlock progressively.”
Seems less like player choice, and more like bonus content being held to ransom if you ask me, but that’s just my take. However, what was selected for the collectors edition was chosen by a community vote. Also, the tier system, as pre-orders go up, allows you to select what you want from each tier.
The Collectors Edition without the tier system includes:
- The game (hurp a durp) and all in-game content
- Limited Edition Steelbook
- 9″ Adam Jensen Figurine
- 48 page Titan Artbook
The more pre-orders made, the more tiers available to you. Here are the tiers, and what you can choose from them:
- Covert Agent Classic Pack
- Covert Agent Enforcer Pack
- Covert Agent Intruder Pack
- Digital Soundtrack
- In Game Mission: Desperate Measures
- Digital Artbook
- Digital Comic Book
- Digital Novel
What are your thoughts on the tier system? Looking forward to Deus Ex: Mankind Divided? Let us know in the comments!
