Bungie have announced that scheduled maintenance of the Destiny servers will be taking place later today (September 3rd) for approximately six hours. The servers will be offline from 16:00 GMT until around 22:00 GMT this evening, the maintenance marks the start of server preparations for the up-coming release of Destiny: The Taken King and the new raid King’s Fall which will launch 3 days after the expansion.
If you’re signed into Destiny chances are you’ve already received a warning message warning of an imminent forced log out, so really this is just to warn those who had plans to play today. Bungie representative: “Once all maintenance is concluded, all services and Destiny login functionality will be restored.” They also made a point of stating that during the downtime users may also experience issues with Bungie.net and the Destiny companion application. However as of yet there has been no mention of any patches that will surely be applied prior to the launch of The Taken King expansion.
Upon conclusion players will be able to jump straight back into the game and will have just 6 days to complete the “10 Moments of Triumph” to earn an exclusive reward, those striving for the reward have until September 9th to complete the necessary objectives if they haven’t already done so.
