Bungie are on the final stretch before the release of their epic Destiny expansion, The Taken King, and have today released a two minute cinematic, with action aplenty leading into the narrative tale.
“Oryx is here. He’s hellbent on revenge, and he’s brought an army of Taken with him. Infiltrate his fortress, fight through his army, and Face The Taken King.”
This week, starting today, you can load up Destiny and take part in the 7 new PvP maps (8 on PlayStation) and play them for free, whether you have pre-ordered The Taken King or not. Following September 14th, you will have to invest in the expansion to continue playing, and to explore the story aspect of the DLC.
“A dark shadow has fallen over our worlds. Oryx, The Taken King, is hell-bent on vengeance and is raising an army of corrupted “Taken” forces by manipulating the Darkness itself. You must find a way into his impenetrable Dreadnaught ship to defeat The Taken King before he and his dark army consume our civilization and bring our solar system to ruin.”
The Taken King will introduce new story missions, multiplayer maps, weapons, Guardian sub-classes and enemies to battle. The expansion will cost you $40 or £40 if you already own Destiny, or you can buy it standalone, which includes the base game and the two previously released add-ons for $80.
