Fans may have noticed the lack of Crackdown 3 at this year’s E3, with the Xbox team failing to show off any new details regarding the sandbox world super cop action game. Well, it looks like it has been delayed, and won’t arrive until some time in 2017.
It’s unfortunate, as a multiplayer beta was due to kick off this summer ahead of the game’s full release. However, due to the demands of the game and what the team wish to add into the game, it seems that more time is needed. One of the game’s developers said:
“Crackdown 3 is a game built for the future with a multiplayer experience that will redefine what it feels like to play games, and as we continue to work on this, it has become clear that our original timeline of delivering multiplayer to fans this summer, while maintaining the size, scope and quality of the game, would be challenging. Our top priority is to give gamers an experience they have never seen before at a scale never thought possible, and sticking to our original timeline would have compromised that goal.”
The developers also stated that Crackdown 3 will also join the list of Xbox Play Anywhere titles, which will allow the gamer to buy it on Xbox One and get a free Windows 10 version.
