Cliff Bleszinski says fans “will all be very pleased” with Gears 4

gears 4Since Microsoft acquired Gears of War from Epic Games, we have so far only seen the release of Gears of War Ultimate Edition and the announcement of Gears of War 4. The former was developed by Splash Damage while The Coalition, headed up by Rod Ferguson, will release Gears 4 later this year.

Cliff Bleszinski, the father of Gears of War and its Lancer with chainsaw bayonet went onto Twitter this weekend to say that he was speaking to a friend who is writing the story for Gears 4, and that fans should be very pleased with it. That’s good news.

The game was announced at E3 last June, and since then, not much else has been said. We’ve only seen a small snippet of gameplay, along with indirect introductions to two new characters from the demo, Kait & JD. Who are they? Where is the game set? When is the game set?

As many know, Cliff Bleszinski is no longer part of Epic and no longer involved with Gears of War. He created a new studio called Boss Key Studios, and their first project — Lawbreakers is a sci-fi arena first person shooter, still in development.

Being friends with Rod Ferguson, he is also rooting for The Coalition, and hoping for Gears 4 to be a good one. All Gears fans are, obviously. Hopefully in February, when Microsoft host their games focused media conference in San Francisco, we shall see more of the game. We need to. Gears 4 is due at the end of 2016, it’s time to start teasing the fans.
