Psyonix, the developers of the amazing Rocket League have previously began spearheading an attack in creating unity on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4, asking for both platform owners to allow network cross-play. Now, The Witcher developer CD Projekt RED are chiming in, asking for the same feature.
Psyonix have been exciting fans the world over with the possibilities, with the studio believing that they have the feature all laid out, and can implement it in less than a single business day. Sure, there may be some bugs to iron out, but they think they can nail it down and see both platforms enjoying the soccer/car sports title together.
CD Projekt RED studio boss Marcin Iwinski told IGN this week “We are keeping our fingers crossed for Rocket League paving the way.”
“We do have a technical solution in place for PS4 and would love to add Sony’s platform to cross-play at the start of open beta. All we need is a green light from Sony.
Of course, Iwinski isn’t talking about The Witcher 3 being cross-platform compatible. No, he’s referring to the studios off-shoot Gwent card game that was born through The Witcher 3. Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is an upcoming free-to-play collectible card game that’s not too dissimilar to the likes of Blizzard’s Hearthstone.
“At the end of the day, this is for the players, isn’t it?” Iwinski added.
