One of the most unexpected announcements in recent months, even for Capcom’s standards, is the announcement of a new collection of retro Disney titles. Coming this April, 90s gamers can revisit some of these old classics as part of a bundle of 6 platformers.
The six games included are:
Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers and Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2 – Bring in a friend for classic co-op Capcom platforming action as one of you plays as Chip, and the other as Dale.
Darkwing Duck – Jump in the shoes of superhero Darkwing Duck and fight crime with lots of charm and wits.
DuckTales and DuckTales 2 – Embark on classic treasure seeking adventures through exotic stages as the pogo master millionaire Scrooge McDuck.
TaleSpin – Take to the skies as rad pilot Baloo in a unique take on the shoot ’em up genre, where you get to change the direction of your plane at any time.
You’ll notice that Duck Tales isn’t the remastered version, which is a bit of a shame. All games will be in their original 8-bit form, but worry not, for a new feature will allow you to quickly rewind your gameplay to address instant death moments. Considering how hard these kind of games were back in the 90s, this is a welcomed addition for the Disney Afternoon Collection.
It releases on April 18th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC for $19.99. No mention of a Switch release mind you, but who knows?
