Here’s your interesting story for the day. Developer of Homefront: The Revolution who are made up of ex Crytek employees have added a rather unfitting easter egg into their guerrilla warfare title. An easter egg that lets you play the first two levels from TimeSplitters 2 inside their new game.
Yep, that’s right. You can play a game within a game, which wouldn’t be the first time either. In a makeshift prison space within Homefront: The Revolution, you can find an arcade cabinet that will feature the game. You only have access to Siberia and Chicago however, but if you loved the game and these levels, it should be a fun nostalgia trip. Whether you would buy Homefront just for that easter egg though is another thing. Will we ever see another TimeSplitters? Probably not? A re-release? More likely but probably not, still.
Dambuster Studios last week showed off the weapon modifications of Homefront: The Revolution and the feature seems rather interesting and dynamic, letting you choose the right weapon for the right mission. You can watch that here if you missed it the first time.
Homefront: The Revolution will be available on May 17th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, and feature a co-op experience that demands teamwork.
