Chris Wynn of BioWare was making his way to Austin, Texas, when he replied to a tweet, saying “Be open minded to a Mass Effect with no Shepard, it can be good.” While the quote doesn’t imply too much, well, nothing really at all, it’s just that it came out of nowhere. The tweeter didn’t say anything Mass Effect related.
Fans replied to the tweet, some arguing about the lack of closure in the ending moments of Mass Effect 3, while others feel that Shepard should be somewhat referenced in the new Mass Effect title, Andromeda.
@lordbyro I am well versed in the caparinhia, delicious. Be open minded to a Mass Effect with no Shepard, it can be good.

The game will release at the end of 2016, and we haven’t seen or heard too much about it since its announcement. The last we saw of it was at E3 in June, if I remember correctly. Nothing was shown or said about it at Gamescom in August, but a supposed survey gave away a few details of what fans can expect in the title. EA also stated that they would not be going down the route of re-releasing games as HD remasters, meaning fans like myself hoping for a remaster of the Mass Effect trilogy, will be left saddened for all eternity.
