Battlefield 1 System requirements detailed and beta feedback

battlefield 1 coverThe Battlefield 1 beta seems like forever ago now and release day can’t come around soon enough. In the meantime, it sounds like DICE have been listening to player feed back resulting from the beta session and have made a few changes. DICE have also released the PC specifications you’ll need in order to enjoy the game. and they’re quite beefy.

Battlefield 1 PC specifications have been revealed and it looks like your CPU is going to be getting a good run out with an Intel Core i5 6600K being listed as the minimum Spec  and an i7 4790 being the recommended. This seems a little steep to me since the game ran just fine on consoles and I know people who ran the Beta just fine with lower specs so perhaps you can get away with lower specifications although that obviously cant be guaranteed. With that said glance your eyes below to see the full system requirements.

DICE has also been busy listening to player feed back following the Battlefield 1 Beta and have made one or two changes in response. Remember how they changed the ticket system for Conquest? Well they changed it back. The new system rewarded teams for capturing points and nothing for getting kills but that has now been changed back to the old….new system with kills also helping bleed the opposing team’s tickets. Whilst I was sceptical at first I actually found the new way played just fine and with sniping being so easy I wonder if some matches will just descend into some form of Sniper Elite type game rather than a Battlefield game.

“we’re going to be making changes to the Conquest game mode ticket system for launch. The next time you play the game, capturing the objectives AND getting kills will both contribute towards the final score of a Conquest match. You have spoken, we have listened!”

Dice are also making some adjustments to the Rush game mode although they didn’t specify what those changes would be although it’s a safe bet vehicles and artillery are being re-balanced.

battlefield 1 horses

Tanks and Horses are going to be getting some attention in the form of a nerf which is welcome since not even Tesco could kill those horses. Tanks were ridiculously overpowered due to the being sponges for damage and the rather ludicrous self repair feature so it’s certainly welcome to see them being looked at although it sounds like they’re focusing more on giving players ways to defeat tanks rather than making changes to the tank directly. Have a read of what DICE said and see what you think.

“The Light Tank, which is a bit too effective in the Open Beta, will definitely receive some work, and we agree that Horses can take a few too many rounds at the moment. We’ve also learned through the Beta that you guys need more tools to deal with vehicles earlier, which we’ll definitely look into (including a Gadget for the Support class which should help neutralize powerful vehicles).”

We’ll have to wait until Battlefield 1 launches to see what these changes are and how they effect gameplay but it is always welcome to see developers engage with the community and provide feedback on what they have learnt from their beta sessions. What changes would you like to see being made to Battlefield 1 after having played the beta?

DICE recently released an infographic detailing the most popular Classes used in the beta, as well as the number of tank and horses kills. See that in full here.
