Earlier this week, it came out that the Batmobile Collector’s Edition of Batman: Arkham Knight had been cancelled by Warner Bros due to the low quality production of the set, much to the disappointment of fans. Not to mention, this took place 5 days before the game’s release. Now, the Limited Edition bundle has been delayed too.
Countless fans received an email to confirm that due to bad quality, the Limited Edition Arkham Knight offering has been delayed. “We want to ensure that your order reaches you in pristine condition and your item, with the updated packaging, should be with you no later than 14 July, 2015.”
To soften the blow, Amazon and other retailers are sending digital codes out via email on the day of the game’s launch, June 23rd, so it’s not like fans will have to wait until mid July to play the game. Between this and the Batmobile edition being cancelled outright, it’s a sorry state of affairs for Rocksteady’s finale in their Batman trilogy, which promises to be an epic adventure.
Already, reviews are hitting the internet speaking volumes of its brilliance, setting, story and new gameplay mechanics. One particular review stated that the overuse of the Batmobile in-game was a bit off an disappointment, as was the combat against tanks, which happened too often.
Game Informer, who gave the game a solid 95 score, said “Lock yourself away, avoid social media and friends, and finish this game. You won’t want this one spoiled for you.”
Other reviews looked like this:
AusGamers – 100
Videogamer – 100
Polygon – 100
IGN – 92
Gamespot – 70
GamesRadar – 80
I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate Rocksteady Games on their fantastic new title, and I look forward to playing through it next week.
